St. Louis Monster Jam |

I'd never seen Phil Foster, Bruce Haney, or David Smith before, and I was to be impressed :) . Though I'd seen Tom Meents back in Penda (he confirmed he'd driven at penda) I'd never seen him in that sweet futuristic SUV, and the "creator of chaos" delivered in some big ways. Dan Evans I had only rode in his old ride truck, but I love the wide look of his race truck. The rest of the field I'd seen in the past few years or so: Jason Witte, a new truck, and he was going to prove its worth. Guy Wood, last year, luck was not on his side, this year, he was back and, well you'll just have to see. As for the Cretens, they were awesome in Springfield year before last, and they were going to again. And then what is needed to be said about Dennis Anderson. The track for tonight would be St. Louis style. Lets meet the drivers!
Line up:
Hot Wheels-Phil Foster
Bad News-Bruce Haney
Wild Hair-Jason Witte
Destroyer-(Air Man) Dan Evans
King Krunch-David Smith
Buldozer-Guy Wood
Scarlet Bandit-Dawn Creten
Bounty Hunter-Jimmy Creten
Maximum Destruction-Tom Meents
Grave Digger-Dennis Anderson
RACING:
Qualifying:
I'll just say this, this track was realy tacky. The fastest time was pulled off by Max D, when he qualified against Hot wheels, Phil Foster was pretty much tied with him until the last turn, where he flipped and destroyed the body and suffered minor shock damage, but he'd be back. Jimmy Creten almost flipped and had to pull the truck out, giving him a slow time, also, King Krunch hit a turning pole and got another slow time, every one else did fairly well.
Round 1:
Wild Hair vs. Destroyer:
Jason Witte had Dan Evans off the starting line, and as I found out later, Destroyer with 2 wheel drive was no match for a new wicked Wild Hair. As a side note Wild Hair mauled a turning pole after crossing the finish line.
Winner: Wild Hair
Max D vs. Buldozer:
The fastest qualifier Tom Meents vs. a guy who almost flipped every 5 feet Guy Wood(so I'm exaggerating a little bit) Pretty much, both ran a nice race, but Tom had it of the start, and when Guy got a little squirrelly in the corner, it more or less sealed his fate.
Winner: Max D
Bad News vs. King Krunch:
David Smith was laying down one heck of a run against the Bad News and Bruce Haney, getting huge air off the cars and going wide so around the corner to stay on all fours. But when he clipped a turning pole (second time in one night) even his wicked run could not out do Bad News.
Winner: Bad News
Bounty Hunter vs. Scarlet Bandit:
Husband vs. wife, and the crazy thing was, Dawns time was the faster. When the light went green both hauled to the finish, but Jimmy pulled it out after the last turn.
Winner: Jimmy Creten
Grave Digger vs. Hot Wheels:
The fact that what was left of Hot Wheels came out was amazing, the truck was setting cockeyed thanks to shock damage and all that was left of the the body was the rear fenders. When the light went green, both truck flat out flew, got huge air. But Dennis beat Phil out of the first turn and smoked down the back stretch, but wait, Grave Digger on two wheels at the last turn! Dennis had to pull out of it and Phil Foster sailed to victory.
Winner: Hot Wheels
Round 2:
Hot Wheels vs. Scarlet Bandit (fastest loser):
With the truck still looking like a piece of junk. Phil Foster nailed it off the starting line and after getting huge air he pulled out the win over Dawn Creten in Scarlet Bandit.
Winner: Hot Wheels
Max D vs. Bounty Hunter:
Both Tom and Jimmy gave it there all, but Max D pulled it out at the finish line.
Winner: Max D.
Bad News vs. Wild Hair:
When the light went green the transmission started spitting smoke and fluid every where on Jason Wittes Wild Hair, giving Bruce Haney in the Bad News a bye run more or less.
Winner: Bad News
Damage: WhWildair was pulled and pushed to the tunnel as he had major transmission problems. I aassumedthat was the end of his night. Just wait to see if I was right.
Semis:
Bounty Hunter(fast loser) vs. Hot Wheels:
Bounty Hunter pulled to the line and Jimmy had to wait for Phil Foster to get Hot Wheels fired up. With the 2 minute "fix it" clock running down, Hot Wheels rroaredto life, and Phil drove to the starting lLinestill buckling up and putting on his hhelmet When the light went green both trucks left together, but as Hot Wheels landed from a huge jump, his right front wheel was ssearedoff and nearly took out King Krunch, giving Bounty Hunter an easy win.
Winner: Bounty Hunter
Damage: Hot Wheels had so much destroyed, he was out for the night.
Max D vs. Bad News:
Bruce Haney had lucked out this far, but Tom Meents put an end to that, and smoked um good.
Winner: Max D
Finals:
Bounty Hunter vs. Max D:
A rematch of round 2. A rematch of WF 3. When the light went green they were pushing their trucks to the limit, and Max D managed to get about a truck length ahead of Bounty Hunter.
Winner: Maximum Destruction
FREESTYLE:
Points are my opinion only.
For freestyle they had a bunch of four wheeler jumps, one that was huge, a car van van car, a car van bus van car, and with one of the racing sets of cars with two cars on top of them, and more would be added as the night went on. Hot Wheels would not return to freestyle, and me and my best bud thought for sure Wild Hair wouldn't either, but as they were rrearrangingthe track for freestyle an engine roared in the tunnel and out came Wild Hair, ya, Jason was going to tear it up, but it'd be a while.
Destroyer: Air Man Dan came out and hit aa lotof stuff, but was lacking in the air factor.
With about 30 seconds left he got a nice wheelie off the the car van van car and landed kind of aawkwardthen he put her on her roof trying to turn a little to fast.
Score: 3
The track crew then brought out an Ice Cream Truck and a car
Bad News: If this was like 1991 or something, Bruce Haney would have rocked. Either the truck wasn't all there or something , he just sorta crawled aacrossmost stuff and ended 20 seconds early with out even touching the Ice Cream truck.
Score:3
Scarlet Bandit: Dawn Creten ckeptup a cconsitintcynice jumps, ending by launching over the HUGE ATV ramp and got some nice air. She was also the first to hit the ice cream truck. Other then that nothing rreallyspectacular here.
Score:5
Wild Hair: After ssufferingmajor transmission problems, Jason Witte and crew had the truck ready to go again for freestyle, and he came out pulling some nice Iron Wall wheelies and getting some pretty nice air, but with about 25 seconds left, Jason hit the bus pyramid, and upon landing whipped in a huge tailgate dragging wheelie that after about 5 feet tipped the truck back and to the left, ending a wild run.
Score:6
King Krunch: David Smith came out and got some nice momentum built up, getting nice air, but about 20 seconds into his run, he decided to try and take King Krunch into orbit off the huge ATV. He then couldn't get her slowed down in time and flipped King Krunch over in a wild "break dance" move.
Score:4
They then brought out a R.V.
Buldozer: Guy Wood brought out Buldozer and layed down the law in his home state( and mine) Missouri. He came out and hit every thing and got some really nice air off every thing, and about 30 seconds in he plowed through the R.V., now that was awesome. About half way through his run he broke a steering rod but kept at it and with the body barely staying on, he took the lead after using the whole time.
Score:8
Bounty Hunter: Jimmy Creten drove out and parked the truck on the less cluttered part of the track, and then pulled on SWEET power Wheelie, he kept hitting, launching, a wheeleing the whole time, and at the end of his run he hit the huge ATV jump, but I think his wife got more air off that. Still, he was wicked and solid.
Score:8
At this time they brought out the short bus from last year that no one got ccompletelycrushed and a car to launch towards it.
Maximum Destruction: Tom comes right out and hits the new bus jump(it still ssurvived, and stated one of those crazy awesome Meents freestyles. About halfway through the freestyle, Tom hit the huge ATV ramp, and got air Scott Hartsock would think envy of. He then hit the short bus from the back side(that killed it) and got up on his left two wheels, I knew he was going over, but he side surfed it THE ENTIRE WIDTH OF THE DOME!!!!!!!!!!! After pulling that wicked save he hit the car van van car, then with 5-10 secs. left he hit the back side of a shorter ATV jump and flipped her on back.
Score:10
Grave Digger: Dennis Anderson came out and threw down a digger style show, going crazy and hitting every thing, he hit the huge ATV jump and nearly flipped. The truck then shutdown for a few seconds. After re firing Dennis went crazy and with like ten second he hit a ramp sideways and got on his right two wheels, saves it, gets on the other two wheels, hits the short bus, and got on the right wheels again, and before taking out Bounty Hunter and Scarlet Bandit managed to save it. Nice run, but there was better.
Score: 9.5
